CHOOSE NATURAL LIGHT
With all due respect to Thomas Edison, sometimes you want to give harsh electric lights a rest. There’s a dark-sky movement in heavily populated areas to try to reduce light pollution. Illuminating your patio with the warm glow of natural flames lets you enjoy the brilliance of the night sky, plus stargazers everywhere will thank you.
DIRECT WITHOUT USING A WORD
Soft flickering flames can be more than decorative. Use your torches to guide movement throughout your backyard. If you have walkways, line them to illuminate the steps and stones. If you have areas you want avoided, create a line of torches that suggests stopping there.
OUTDOOR FAMILY GAME NIGHT
The days are getting longer, the nights are getting warmer, and it’s time to spend some time outdoors! An outdoor family game night is a great way to strengthen family bonds and enjoy the great outdoors. It doesn’t have to be difficult or complicated, though. The most important thing is to spend time with your family in a constructive and fun way. Everything else is just icing on the cake!
Complete the al fresco dining by adding dessert to the menu. S’mores are always a good idea, but try mixing it up with grilled fruit kebabs (don’t knock it ‘til you try it) or go big with a skillet dessert.
